Debate moderator puts tRump up, 299 to 240

NBC’s Kristen Welker didn’t do much to shut up Dr. Quack tRump in the third and final debate before election day on Nov. 3. Did she have a mic kill button? Did she ever use it? I thought she let tRump ramble on and always gave him the last word on every exchange.

While I don’t think you win debates by saying the most words, there are those who do. And they saw tRump winning the debate. He might have told one lie after another, but there wasn’t anyone there to say they were lies. Except Biden, and he didn’t do that enough.

So Stable Genius rattles off a bunch of numbers, repeats his favorite insults and makes sure he overrides the moderator to put the finishing touches on the end of his rant. Or so I say. The most-words-win person would say he overpowered his opponent and the moderator with words that flowed from his mouth and never gave them a chance.

I moved all the “maybe” votes to tRump, gave Missouri over to the red pile and put South Carolina in that stack as well. I may have moved S.C. earlier. Next I’ll move to Canada.

  1. To me, Trump is so obviously not prepared to be President. If he found some way to be prepared, his character would also disqualify him. There is no way he could ever do an adequate job.

That said, people will still choose him over anybody else. No reasoning can change their minds. They even seem to be irrational. In denial. Holding false hope for idiotic outcomes. Trump will get votes.

My fear is that there are two channels of information active, and they are separate worlds. They do not overlap. I have tried to get into that other line of communication, eg. Fox, Limbaugh, etc., but haven’t been able to stay there long. It’s frustrating and maddening listening to news in this other world. It is also misinforming. Lying. Conniving. Their reporting turned out to be in error. Often. And Trump supporters seem to live in THAT world. They don’t ever come over to the other world which I have chosen to inhabit, the one that has proven over and over to be way more accurate, factual, and truthful. No attempt to investigate “my” world. We are separate. And the people I watch and listen to eg. NYTimes, WashPost, NBC, NPR, do not reach those in Trump’s world. All the reasoning, proof, research, persuasion, logic, etc., is not heard or seen by Trump’s people. They are not aware. And they refuse to investigate. Willful ignorance. Fear perhaps.

I feel like the years I spent listening to Limbaugh et al, was a good honest effort to see and understand what has turned out to be Trump’s world. I want those guys to do the same in my chosen world, but they don’t seem to want to do it. They are insulated from logic, truth, and can’t be reached. MSNBC can broadcast 24/7/365 and it will not reach Trump’s world.

He’s gonna get his votes. I can just hope that my world votes more.

Wow. I think I had a little bit pent up inside.

    1. Thanks for spilling what was pent up inside. I also try to watch a variety of news shows, read different papers and magazines, always trying to hear and see “what the other side” is seeing and hearing. I can only do it for so long if my wife is in the room. Fox, Patriot radio on Sirius, drive her crazy. We watched “The Social Dilemma” on Netflix last night. There’s a documentary that can scare you.
